Since their humble beginnings at 93 Feet East in Brick Lane in 2003, NICE UP! has grown to encompass a record label, clothing line, publishing company and has travelled the globe pushing its "righteous party vibes" at clubs and festivals. Synonymous with dancefloor destruction, the night encompasses all forms of reggae infused music from hip hop, dancehall and bashment to jungle, dubstep and drum & bass.

Joining them on their 10th Birthday is a stellar line up of talent - kicking off with the legendary GENERAL LEVY. Having smashed the Big Chill House on New Years Eve, we thought it only right to get him back to do it again - there were plenty of people left outside that night! Performing all of his hits from "Champagne Body", "Heat" and "The Wig" plus the massive "Incredible", he's sure to take the roof off once again! Performing alongside him is the "godfather of UK hip hop" RODNEY P who once again has shelled down many a NICE UP! event in the past, he'll be performing tracks such as "Riddim Killa", "Big Tings We Inna" "Murderer Style" and of course "The Nice Up" which has obviously become something of an anthem!

Making big waves in the jungle scene at the moment, ARIES is making his debut at NICE UP!, although his tunes have been making an impact for some time! Known best for his work with David Boomah and Lion Fire, not to mention his massive remix of Bob Marley's "Sun Is Shining". NICE UP! label's very own MR BENN is making a visit from Bristol having recently signed to the label and dropped his single "Rising Star" with Serocee. His album is planned for later in the year and includes collaborations with dancehall heavyweights Tenor Fly, Top Cat, Ragga Twins and many more. A member of the NICE UP! family from day one, JSTAR also makes a rare appearance since moving to Berlin and travelling the world with the MAJOR LAZER show. Known for his genre-busting sets and popular mash-ups, we're happy to finally having him behind the decks for a night!

Also making the visit to help us blow the candles out are Belgium's TURNTABLE DUBBERS - fresh from remixing Dub Pistols & Tippa Irie plus their recent massive tune "I Like Your Style" featuring Top Cat. Rounding off the line up for the main room is SHEPDOG - resident DJ from day one and a dab hand at rocking any dancefloor with his renowned mashups and remixes of artists such as Nas, Damien Marley, Gorillaz and The Gossip to name but a few! He's also celebrating his
own birthday this weekend so be sure to buy him a drink if you see him!

Upstairs we have one of London's finest roots reggae and dancehall crews - Extra Classic. Featuring selectors AL FINGERS (Greensleeves Records, Clarks In Jamaica) and DISORDA (Suspect Packages) plus SEANIE T (Banana Klan) keeping the mic nice, the vibes will be high in the
second room for sure!

UNPLUG THE JUKEBOX (UTJ) is a brand-new, super-fresh session at Hoxton's Horse & Groom hosted by vinyl-obsessives DISORDA (Suspect Packages) & MISTAH BROWN (Tighten Up!) where selectors dig a little deeper than usual to unearth a classic playlist with a difference:

There'll be plenty of tunes we all know and love, but UTJ is all about rediscovering and sharing those lesser known vinyl treasures that rarely even make it into a working DJs box let alone onto a club turntable! Don't get us wrong - there's always a place for the blatant party banger but UTJ is a chance for us to get together and celebrate the obscure, unjustly neglected killers that we rarely hear anywhere except our living rooms!

Special guest selector this month is UK Hip-Hop champion OLIVER SUDDEN (Vintage Fly Soundsystem/BBP Records/Starch Music) who'll be raiding his extensive vinyl library to bring you (and us!) everything from rock-solid Soul grooves to wonky Hip Hop bangers and beyond!
